Published on November 9, 2019, Granit Xhaka, the 27-year-old Swiss professional footballer, has excluded himself from Arsenal's crucial Premier League match against Leicester City.

According to Unai Emery, the Gunners' manager, Xhaka may not play for the team again, following a heated confrontation with fans after being substituted in the Premier League tie against Crystal Palace on October 27.

Emery explained that Xhaka is not yet available to play and that he does not know if the player will play again, stating, 'He said to me he is not yet available and I don’t know if he’s going to play again.'

Unai Emery further explained that the club knows Xhaka's decision and that they are aware of his ideas about the situation.

Arsenal chiefs are now considering selling Xhaka when the January 2019 transfer window opens, following a defeat for the team against Leicester City, which could cause serious problems for Emery's job at the Emirates stadium.
