Reactions to the Kibra by-election have been pouring in, with two politicians who narrowly escaped lynching speaking out on the outcome. Former Kakamega Senator Bony Khalwale and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi have shared their thoughts on the election, which saw ODM's Imran Otieno Okoth emerge victorious.
On Friday, Dr. Khalwale congratulated his candidate, McDonald Mariga, while making two assertions that he claimed were the main reasons why the Jubilee candidate did not win the election. He stated that Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula's candidates had spoiled 5,275 and 260 votes respectively, and that thousands of female voters were scared off by ODM party goons.
Meanwhile, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi blamed Jubilee's defeat on poor strategy, saying they were not aware that there were hired goons intimidating voters. He also congratulated Imran Okoth on his win, warning the victors to prepare for another battle in 2022.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen congratulated Imran Okoth on his win, saying the Kibra vote was a clear indication that the future is bright. Outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria also congratulated Okoth, while throwing a cheeky jibe at Jubilee Candidate McDonald Mariga.
