On November 8, 2019, the National Treasury reversed a decision to slash Sh3 billion from the Judiciary's budget, restoring the funds that had been deducted.

A source within the Judiciary revealed that the recurrent and development budget had been fully restored, with the money reflecting in the Judiciary's accounts.

Chief Registrar Anne Amadi confirmed the restoration of the funds, stating in a memo to registrars, directors, and heads of stations that the Judiciary's recurrent and development budget for the FY 2019/2020 had been restored.

Amadi informed the recipients that the budget for the half-year had been uploaded in Ifmis as approved by the National Assembly, and that authority to incur expenditure for court stations and tribunals was being processed.

The restoration of the budget comes after more than 15,000 cases were suspended due to the crippling budget cuts, which had forced dozens of courts around the country to shut down.
