Thursday, November 7, 2019, marked a significant day in Kenyan politics, with several key stories making headlines in the national dailies.
One of the most notable stories is the potential alliance between Deputy President William Ruto and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. According to reports, the two leaders have been experiencing isolation from their parent parties and have been meeting to discuss a possible alliance ahead of the 2020 General Election.
Professor Murungaru Kimani, a population expert at the University of Nairobi, has attributed the decline in population growth to a decline in women's fertility since the 1980s and the trend is set to continue. The results of the recent census revealed an average annual growth rate of 2.2%, the lowest in the last three decades.

The Senate has also given President Uhuru Kenyatta the nod to borrow an extra KSh 3 trillion after they extended the debt ceiling to KSh 9 trillion. The move has caused disquiet among Kenyans since the current debt is already biting.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has cautioned banks against tough guidelines which inhibit the youth from accessing loans, urging them to come up with friendly measures in the issuing of credit services so that the youth can start businesses.
