Published on November 6, 2019, Silverstone Air has suspended flights to three destinations in Kenya, citing poor economic performance.

The airline has suspended operations on the Nairobi–Homa Bay, Nairobi–Wajir, and Nairobi–Lodwar routes, with the Homa Bay route being launched just two months prior.

The airline launched flights to Lodwar in January 2018 and to Wajir in June 2019, targeting traders and tourists.

These suspensions come amid an ongoing audit by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) following a series of air incidents and a recent accident involving the airline's planes.

Just last week, a Silverstone Air plane made an emergency landing at Eldoret International Airport after a tyre fell off during take-off, while barely 24 hours prior, a Silverstone aircraft hit and damaged another plane at the Wilson Airport in Nairobi.

These incidents follow a previous accident where a Silverstone plane skidded off the runway and crash landed shortly after take-off at Wilson Airport.
