Published on June 12, 2021, a policewoman attached to Lang'ata Police Station has written to Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, seeking his intervention in a series of frustrations she has encountered from her bosses.

Swaleh Rehema, a police constable, took to her Instagram Insta Story to express her grievances against Lang'ata OCPD Benjamin Mwathu and her station's OCS William Matu.

Rehema claims that she was forced to work at a time when she was supposed to be on maternal leave, despite being 7 months pregnant.

She alleges that she was assigned normal duties instead of light duty, which took a toll on her health.

Rehema also claims that she was assigned duty at West Park Police Post, managed by the Lang'ata Police Station, without being informed of the change in duty roster.

She was later reported for absenteeism, despite not being aware of the change in duty roster.

When contacted for comment, Lang'ata OCPD Benjamin Mwathu refused to comment on the matter, citing procedures to be followed when one feels aggrieved at the police service.
