On November 5, 2019, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino pointed an accusing finger at the Flying Squad Department of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for allegedly harassing his former Tetu counterpart Ndungu Gethenji.

Mr. Owino alleged that Flying Squad is being used as “hired goons” to settle business scores in a civil matter, specifically targeting Mr. Gethenji over the Kihingo Village property development.

“It is no secret that there are wrangles within the development. These wrangles are before the courts of law,” noted Mr. Owino.

He further alleged that Mr. Gethenji has been arrested twice, with no reports of a complaint against him at any police station, and accused a number of residents of the property of coming together to “bring false witness” against the ex-Tetu legislator.

Mr. Owino now wants Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i to break his silence on the issue and “immediately disband the Flying Squad and interdict Musa Yego, George Kinoti and all officers involved in the harassment of innocent business people including Hon Ndung’u Gethenji.”
