DP William Ruto's Kibra campaign rallies have been dominated by Langata MP Nixon Korir and a handful of MPs from Western Kenya, raising eyebrows as Mt Kenya leaders who were once close to the DP have been nowhere to be seen.
According to sources, the absence of Mt Kenya leaders is due to a perceived supremacy battle within Tanga Tanga, with some MPs feeling belittled and denied access to the DP's residence and Annex office.
"We did not go to Kibra because it was like our presence was not needed there. There is a group that hijacked the campaigns so we decided to let them run things," said a vocal Tanga Tanga legislator from Murang'a county.
Separately, the Inua Mama Group, led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome, has disintegrated due to infighting between Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and MP Wahome, with the latter feeling undermined by junior Jubilee leaders.
As a result, the Inua Mama Group gave Kibra campaigns a wide berth, highlighting the deepening rift within Jubilee's ranks.
