On November 4, 2019, a suspected gas explosion rocked the Machakos Country Bus Station in Nairobi's Kamukunji area, leaving several people injured.
According to reports, the explosion occurred at around 2pm inside a fast food restaurant as patrons were having their lunch.
St John's Ambulance confirmed that 14 people were injured, including an infant, and were taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital.
"At least 14 injured, including an infant at Kamukunji gas explosion. Casualties taken to Kenyatta National Hospital," St John's Ambulance said in a statement.
