Published on November 3, 2019, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has outlined conditions for Mt Kenya to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Speaking at St Paul Anglican Church in Embu County, Mr Kiunjuri emphasized the need for equal distribution of resources to all regions, saying this would win support from a majority of the region.

"We have no problem with the BBI but it must ensure national resources benefit all people equally," he told worshipers.

Mr Kiunjuri also expressed concerns over Mt Kenya's representation in the National Assembly, citing some constituencies as being big and highly populated but having a few MPs.

"All what we want is for all constituencies to have equal representation in the National Assembly," he said.

He further called for unity among the region's leaders, saying this was crucial for Mt Kenya's development.

"Unless we work together, our region will lag behind in development," he said.
