On September 23, 2021, Stanbic Bank Kenya and Mombasa county signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) led by the youth and women in the county.
Under the partnership, SMEs will receive continuous support from business owners, including access to resources and knowledge. The Stanbic Kenya Foundation will distribute over 400 computers and laptops to help SMEs elevate their digital skills and businesses.
Charles Mudiwa, Chief Executive for Stanbic Bank Kenya, said, 'The Stanbic Kenya Foundation will provide SMEs with access to resources and knowledge by distributing over 400 computers and laptops to help them elevate their digital skills and businesses.'
The partnership has also made possible the launch of the 'Future ni Digital' skills program, which aims to train 1000 SME owners and at least 500,000 Kenyans in the next 3 years.
William Kingi, Deputy Governor of Mombasa, assured the youth that the MoU would be the beginning of an initiative to eradicate youth unemployment and open an avenue for entrepreneurship.
