On November 3, 2019, former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba publicly declared his support for Kibra aspirant McDonald Mariga.
Ababu Namwamba visited Mariga's home, where he was welcomed by the former footballer and his father Noah Wanyama.
During his visit, Ababu posted a photo posing with Mariga, his father, and another relative in their living room and captioned, 'ShienyuNiShienyu. [support your own]. REMEMBER,' he wrote.
He added, 'Zeeeeeroooooo apology to nabary? Firmly with my brother Mariga.'
