Chelsea Secure Fifth Straight Win in Premier League ¶
On November 3, 2019, Chelsea secured their fifth consecutive win in the Premier League, defeating Watford 2-1.
Chelsea's Tammy Abraham opened the scoring in the fifth minute, capitalizing on a delightful pass from Jorginho. Abraham's instinctive finish gave Chelsea a 1-0 lead.
Ben Foster made three world-class saves to keep Watford in the match, thwarting efforts from Willian, Mason Mount, and Jorginho.
Gerard Delefeou had Watford's best chance in the first half, but his effort went agonizingly wide.
Chelsea doubled their lead in the second half, with Christian Pulisic scoring a simple finish after being set up by Abraham. Pulisic almost grabbed his second two minutes later, but Foster made a save with his legs.
Watford were given a lifeline after a VAR review confirmed Jorginho tripped Delefeou in the box, and Delefeou converted the spot-kick to make it 2-1 with ten minutes left to play.
Chelsea held on to secure their fifth straight win, with Kepa Arrizabalaga saving a Forster diving header in injury time.
