On October 25th, 2019, the community lost a devoted nurse and friend, Margaret "Maggie" Thogori Guchu, who had made a lasting impact in Austin, Texas, and beyond.
Originally from Kamahuha, Muranga County, Maggie was the daughter of Joseph Guchu Muiruri and the late Loice Waithira Guchu. She was the sister of several siblings, including the late Francis Muiruri, late John Njoroge, late Jacinta Nyambura, late Faith Muthoni, late Sammy Ngugi, Jesse Mwangi, Sarah Wanjiru, Nancy Njeri, Dorcas Wangari, and Ann Wambui.
Maggie's life was a testament to her dedication to her work and her community. As a nurse, she had the opportunity to serve with various organizations, touching the lives of countless individuals. Her warm personality made her a beloved friend to many, and she was considered a daughter of many cities.
