John Mwangi Kagema, the founder and CEO of Equity Bank, passed away on December 26, 2018.
A bitter dispute has erupted between two wives of the late John Mwangi Kagema, the founder and former CEO of Equity Bank, over his estate.
Sarah Wanjiru Ngugi and Beatrice Wanjiku Mwangi are at odds over the distribution of Kagema's properties, with Sarah accusing her co-wife and her two sons of excluding her from the process.
According to court documents, Sarah claims that Beatrice's marriage to Kagema is disputed, citing information shared by the deceased before his death.
Beatrice, however, denies the allegations, stating that she is the legal wife and that Kagema had no capacity to marry another woman, as their union was monogamous.
The dispute has taken a dramatic turn, with Sarah seeking a DNA test to determine paternity and resolve the matter.
She has asked the court to direct the soundest and most respectful manner to harvest samples for the DNA test.
The case will be heard on November 23, 2019.
