Former President Daniel Moi, 95, has been in and out of hospital for the last two years, with his latest admission occurring four days ago in Nairobi.
Lee Njiru, the family spokesperson, has come out to clarify the ongoing speculations about Moi's health, terming them 'Hogwash' and urging the public to ignore the rumors.
Speaking on Thursday, Lee emphasized that Moi is 'alert and conscious of his surroundings,' contradicting earlier claims that the retired president was in critical condition.
While attending the burial of his eldest son Jonathan Moi in May this year, Moi did not leave his car, fueling concerns about his health.
Lee had earlier disputed claims that Moi was in critical condition, stating that the man 'is alert and conscious of his surroundings.' He added that Moi is being attended to by a professional medical team led by his personal physician, Dr. David Silverstein.
The family has not disclosed the nature of Moi's ailment, but sources indicate that he is being treated for breathing complications.
