Published on October 31, 2019, a story about former President Daniel Arap Moi's love life revealed that he was deeply in love with one woman, Lena.

Little is known about Lena, but it is reported that she was born in 1926 and attended the AIM School in Eldama Ravine before joining Tenwek Girls' Boarding School in Kericho.

Her parents, the Paul Bomett family, were pioneer Christians in Eldama Ravine, and it was at the AIC mission in Eldama Ravine that Moi officially married Lena in 1950.

Lena had two siblings, William Bomett and sister Dina, and after getting married, she abandoned her career as a primary school teacher to focus on raising her family with Moi at Tambach Government School.

Tragically, Lena passed away in 2004, leaving behind a legacy that remains largely unknown.
