Published on October 28, 2019, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) announced an investigation into Silverstone Air Services following a series of air safety incidents.

A recent incident involved a Silverstone Air plane, registration number 5YBWG, a Bombardier Dash 8-300, which made an emergency landing at the Eldoret International Airport after a tire fell off shortly after takeoff from Lodwar Airstrip in Turkana County.

On Sunday, another Silverstone aircraft collided with a plane at Wilson Airport shortly before takeoff, further raising concerns about the airline's safety record.

These incidents come after another Silverstone aircraft veered off the runway and crashed before takeoff at Wilson Airport, sparking initial concerns about the airline's safety standards.

According to KCAA Director General Capt. Gilbert Kibe, the investigation aims to determine Silverstone's level of compliance with KCAA's regulations and internal approved manuals and procedures.
