On Sunday, Gor Mahia played out a thrilling 1-1 draw against Motema Pembe in their CAF Confederations Cup playoff match at Kasarani Stadium.
The Kenyan giants took the lead in the 62nd minute, but their advantage was short-lived as the visitors equalized just eight minutes later.
Things took a turn for the worse for Gor Mahia when Charles Momanyi was sent off in the 78th minute for a foul in the box, handing Motema Pembe a penalty.
However, Vinny Bongonga missed the spot-kick with ten minutes left on the clock, and the hosts held on for a crucial draw.
With the result, Gor Mahia now have a week to regroup before facing a daunting task of searching for a win away to DRC next Sunday.
The winner of the two-legged tie will book a ticket to the group stages of the continental tournament.
