Published on June 23, 2021, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has revealed that the self-proclaimed Hustler Nation political group is set to welcome more leaders from the Mt Kenya region.
According to Nyoro, several Governors, MPs, and Senators from the region have been secretly supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, with many expected to join the TangaTanga group by August.
“Almost all Governors from Mt Kenya Region are Hustlers – we talk frequently. We are also in talks with several Cabinet Secretaries, PSs and other High ranking government officials with political ambitions. Almost all sitting MPs and Senators from Mt Kenya region except just like 5 are Hustler Nation – they are where they are during the day for obvious reasons,” Nyoro said.
Despite intimidation by government mercenaries, Nyoro claims that many leaders remain ardent supporters of Ruto's 2022 bid, with some Governors already getting restless due to the regime's handling of the economy.
His sentiments came minutes after Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchombi officially defected from the Kieleweke faction of the Jubilee Party to the TangaTanga political faction, further solidifying the group's presence in the region.
