As I celebrated my 35th birthday in Nyali, Mombasa, Eliud Kipchoge broke the Ineos 1:59 Challenge, sending a message that would change my life in a profound way.

On that fine Saturday, I was surrounded by my family, enjoying a weekend of excesses, including a sunburn and whiskey-fueled buffets. Our toddlers had never seen an ocean before, and their first encounter with the beach was a sight to behold.

As Kipchoge's achievement sparked a wave of social media discussions about pacesetters in life, I couldn't help but think about the real winner – Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire who sponsored the run through his company, Ineos.

Sir Ratcliffe, named the richest person in the UK in 2018, has invested in various sports, including soccer, cycling, and Kipchoge. His story serves as a reminder that money can buy more than just material possessions – it can also provide opportunities for growth and success.

Reflecting on my own life, I've come to realize that understanding the true value of money is key to gaining power over it. As I read an e-book on personal development and self-transformation, I've learned that our beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions create our reality.

My prayer as I step into my mid-thirties is to have access to the things I desire, just like Sir Ratcliffe, and to run faster than Kipchoge. Perhaps, with the right mindset and understanding of money, I can achieve my goals and live a life of financial freedom.
