Published on October 25, 2019, Kenyan gospel turned secular singer Willy Poze Msafi has sparked controversy with his recent statements on the root of evil.

Contrary to the popular notion that money is the root of all evil, Poze Msafi affirms that poverty is the real cause of misery and evil in the world.

Speaking to a group of campus ladies, the celebrated singer shared his personal experience of rising from poverty and how it has given his life meaning.

He challenged the conventional beliefs and teachings that are peddled to people, saying, "Money is the beginning of life, no one should lie to you that poverty is humble."

Poze Msafi has taken on church leaders for their alleged misleading of innocent Kenyans by preaching that money is the cause of all evil.

"Any pastor who says to you that money brings evil is a liar," he sensationally shared.
