On October 25, 2019, Jemimah Ndegwa, wife to Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa, took to social media to congratulate her husband on his new role.
She penned a long message describing her husband's attributes, including being a man who does not take shortcuts to success.
‘My dear, you always tell me that there is no short cut to real and lasting success….. I have experienced first-hand the long hours and your commitment to self and others to achieve great things.
She praised her husband for taking risks and gaining valuable experience, which sets him apart from others.
Noting that integrity and humility are not common traits, Jemimah expressed her confidence that these qualities will continue to define her husband's leadership.
“I know just as has been the case, integrity and humility will continue to be your trademark in this new role. We your family will continue to support you and pray for you,”
Interestingly, in a 2015 interview with Business Daily, Peter Ndegwa commended his wife for being understanding and supportive of his career, which required him to move around the world a lot.
