Published on October 25, 2019, Harmonize has finally opened up about his tumultuous relationship with his former management, WCB Wasafi.
According to the Konde gang boss, his relationship with Diamond went sour the minute he quit WCB, citing a desire to move on and pursue new opportunities.
Harmonize also revealed that he deliberately chose not to invite the WCB team to his wedding, opting instead for a more intimate celebration with loved ones.
“I don’t lie, my relationship with my former management is not what it used to be, and I didn’t expect them to attend my wedding,” Harmonize said in an interview.
However, the real cost of leaving WCB was a staggering Tsh500 million (approximately Ksh 22, 462,569), which Harmonize had to pay to gain exclusive rights to all the music he worked on under WCB Wasafi.
His contract stipulated that he had to pay Sh22.4 million to exit the label, but Harmonize has already settled a significant portion of the amount.
So desperate was he to raise the funds that he was forced to sell three of his houses, a testament to the financial burden of leaving WCB.
“I had to pay Tsh500 million, but I didn’t leave WCB with any ill will, we followed the law and the contract terms! I had to pay Tsh500 million and some additional costs, but I didn’t have the money, so I sold some of my properties to raise the funds and I’ve already paid a significant portion of it,” Harmonize said.
