On October 24, 2019, a disturbing discovery was made in a South B house in Nairobi, where the decomposing body of a 13-year-old boy was found wrapped in a blanket.

Police arrested the boy's mother, a University of Nairobi lecturer, after neighbours raised an alarm about a foul smell emanating from the house.

Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo said officers found the body in the living room at around 6 pm on the day of the discovery.

According to Ndolo, the suspect was in the house at the time and is being investigated for the incident.

"We acted after neighbours raised an alarm that there was a foul smell emanating from the house," Ndolo told the Star on phone.
