On October 24, 2019, AS Roma announced plans to open a Twitter account in the Sheng language, just weeks after launching its Swahili account.
The club asked its followers to vote in a Twitter poll on whether they wanted an official Sheng-language Twitter page.
With 76% of the vote in favor by 11 am on Thursday, it seemed clear that the majority of fans wanted the club to open a Sheng account.
