On October 24, 2019, radio personality Maina Kageni shared his personal experience with inheriting his father's property after his passing during a morning show on Classic 105 FM.
He and his co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i were discussing succession battles when Maina revealed that his father's will saved his family from murky inheritance disputes.
According to Maina, his father died when he was just two years old, but fortunately, he left behind a will that was entrusted to trustees.
As soon as Maina turned 21, the properties were transferred to him, thanks to his father's foresight.
However, Maina faulted his late father for not leaving everything to his mother, saying, 'My dad was guilty. Why did he not leave everything to my mother?'
Comedian Daniel Ndambuki, alias Mwalimu King'ang'i, shared a similar experience, stating that the only inheritance he received from his father was his mother.
King'ang'i emphasized the importance of handling succession battles carefully, citing the Michukis, Kariukis, and Karumes as examples of families who have been embroiled in court battles over inheritance.
