On October 22, 2019, Bolt announced the launch of its operations in Naivasha, Nakuru, Kitale, and Eldoret, marking a significant expansion of its services in Kenya.

The move brings Bolt's network to nine urban centers in the country, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Thika, Kisumu, Kakamega, and the newly added towns.

According to Ola Akinnusi, Bolt's Country Manager for Kenya, the company's steady growth in Kenya is driven by its expansion into new markets, which is largely fueled by demand for its service.

“We are excited to make movement for our customers affordable, convenient, and safe, especially as the festive season approaches,” Akinnusi said.

Earlier in October, Bolt's General Manager for East Africa, Kenneth Micah, hinted at the company's plans to expand its national footprint, citing market research and customer preferences as key factors in the decision-making process.
