On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Tanzanian singer Harmonize launched a mobile food programme to offer free meals to the less fortunate in East Africa.
Harmonize, who hails from a poor background, has risen from sleeping hungry to becoming one of East-Africa's most sought-after performers.
Flanked by Ilala District Commissioner Sophia Mjema, Harmonize flagged off a food truck branded 'Konde Boy Mgahawa' that will supply free food for the next six months.
According to Harmonize, the truck will give out free food only on Sundays, but the frequency could increase if sponsors come onboard.
Harmonize expressed his joy at having finally actualized the dream, saying, 'I have fulfilled one of my life-long dreams! God is good.'
He then went ahead to thank DC Sophia Mjema for welcoming him to her area of jurisdiction and appreciated the press for providing coverage, saying, 'your presence will make many people see this and get inspired.'
The food was handed out to the gathered crowd in small bags labelled 'Konde Boy Mgahawa.'
Harmonize's mobile restaurant initiative comes after he exited WCB following a rumoured fallout with Diamond Platnumz and went on to launch his own record label, Konde Music Worldwide.
Just a few days ago, Tanzania president John Magufuli expressed his desire to see Harmonize run for MP in the next General Elections.
