PrideInn Hotels Sees Boost in Conference Business

Published on October 19, 2019, PrideInn Hotels in Nairobi is reaping big from conference business, with a significant increase in bookings for the last quarter of the year.

According to the hotel's Group Sales and Marketing Manager, Mrs. Farzana Zahir, the year is promising compared to 2018, which was marred by the Dusit terror attack that created uncertainties within the industry.

We are scaling up our operations by deploying aggressive marketing strategies to attract more clients for seminars, end year dinners, and conferences,” said Mrs. Zahir.

The hotel's General Manager, Mr. Andrew Makau, noted that the hotel is gearing up for one of its busiest seasons, with a 30% increase in accommodation and 40% increase in bookings at its largest conference facility, the Pride Center, which can accommodate up to 1500 people.

“It’s a really exciting time for the industry, we are seeing a 30% percent increase in accommodation and 40% percent increase in the Pride Center bookings, our biggest conference facility in Nairobi that takes up to 1500 people,” Said Mr. Makau.

Conference tourism has emerged as the fastest-growing segment of the modern tourism sector, with business travelers spending more than their leisure counterparts, often with expenses paid by their organizations, leaving them with substantial disposable incomes to spend.
