Eliud Kipchoge Sues Radio Station for Misusing His Name for Gains

Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge has taken legal action against a radio station for misusing his name to gain popularity and attract followers.

According to reports, the radio station, NRG, had announced on October 16 that it would give away a BMW car to Kipchoge if it reached one million followers on its Instagram page within a day.

However, Kipchoge's lawyer, Donald Kipkorir, stated that the radio station's actions were a breach of his client's right to privacy and trademark infringement.

'Without my client's consent, you have misled your audience into believing that if you reach one million followers on your Instagram page, you will give away my client's car,' Kipkorir said.

The radio station has been given two days to respond to the allegations and has been asked to pay damages for the infringement.

It is worth noting that Kipchoge is a world-renowned athlete who has made history by becoming the first person to complete a marathon in under two hours.
