On a day that will be etched in her memory forever, Tina Bejarano, a US citizen, was overjoyed to be reunited with her daughter, Kristin Cooke, whom she had been told had died just 15 minutes after birth 30 years ago.
However, it later emerged that Tina had planned to abandon Kristin, citing that she was too young, just 17 years old, and could not take care of her or the child.
After Tina received a message on email recently that Kristin's parents were willing to take care of her, Kristin moved to live with her biological parents in Las Vegas.
But in a shocking twist, a DNA test later revealed that Kristin was actually Tina's son, not daughter, and had undergone sex reassignment surgery and was now married.
Tina expressed her joy at being reunited with her son, saying, "I don't care if he changed sex, I don't care at all, he is my child, and I'm grateful he's alive."
