Man Arraigned in Court for Biting Genitals of His Son ¶
On October 13, 2019, Salim Mwaluma Chongo, a 23-year-old man, was arraigned at Voi Law Courts before Senior Resident Magistrate Fredrick Nyakundi.
The accused was charged with assaulting his 4-month-old son, biting his penis, right leg, and rib. The incident occurred at the accused's own homestead in Mwingoni village, Voi, Taita Taveta county.
The court was informed that the baby's mother was away at the time of the incident, leaving the child in the care of the accused.
The baby is currently undergoing treatment for the grievous injuries sustained on his genitals.
The accused was released on a cash bail of Ksh. 20,000 or an alternative Ksh. 50,000 bond.
The matter is scheduled for a mention on October 30, 2019, with the hearing set for October 31, 2019.
