With the #MeToo movement forcing a shift in the way TV shows are created, women contestants are now at the forefront of the dating game.

At the MIPCOM entertainment market in Cannes, analysts say laddish shows may be a thing of the past.

One show, 'Five Guys a Week' from Britain's Channel 4, features a woman inviting five suitors to live with her and competing for her favor.

Virginia Mouseler of The Wit industry database notes, 'The guys all live with her at the same time and have to compete' for her attention.

Another show, 'Queens of Love' from Israel, features three drag queens helping a lovelorn woman find the right partner.

They offer inside advice on the male mind and investigate the suitors' private lives to find their skeletons.

Other shows, such as 'Undercover Twins' and 'Generation Dating', also feature women taking control of the dating process.

These new formats are a departure from traditional laddish shows and offer a fresh perspective on the dating game.
