Kenya is gearing up to host the American Chamber of Commerce business summit, an event expected to boost US investment in the country.

According to Maxwell Okello, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce, Kenya Chapter, the summit aims to address the lack of information about existing business and investment opportunities between Kenya and the US.

UNCTAD's 2019 World Investment Report reveals that the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, China, and South Africa are among the top investors in Kenya.

The American chamber has identified Fintech, Agri technology, health, and infrastructure as potential sectors for US investment in Kenya.

Despite opportunities in ICT, banking, tourism, infrastructure, and mining, American investors often lack information about available investment opportunities, hindering trade between Kenya and the US.

The two-day AmCham Business Summit, scheduled for early next month, aims to facilitate business-to-business deals and ease the penetration of local businesses into the American market.
