On October 23, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are set to attend a historic event in Sochi City, Russia, as part of the first-ever Russia-Africa summit.
The summit, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, will bring together 90 heads of state, including Uhuru and Raila.
They will be accompanied by influential businessmen Vimal Shah of Bidco group and Richard Ngatia, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce.
Putin has organized the summit to strengthen ties between Russia and Africa, and to promote economic cooperation between the two regions.
