On Fridays, Kenyans can now enjoy fast internet with Telkom's Freedom Friday data package, offering 5GB of data for Ksh. 100, valid for more than a day.

This new package is part of Telkom's efforts to add value to its existing and new customers. According to Telkom, the Freedom Friday data package is a promotional bundle that allows customers to use its data proposition for at least 48 hours.

‘We want our customers to get to experience the network across various places they might be in,’ said Telkom in a statement.

Customers can also access up to 60GB of data at Ksh. 1,000, valid for one month. Newly recruited customers will be eligible for this package, which can be sold by Telkom shops and agents. Existing customers can also access the package through Telkom agents and shops.

Since the launch of the Freedom Friday data package, Telkom has seen significant gains in the data and voice market. According to the Communications Authority, Telkom's market share of mobile data subscriptions increased to 5.4 percent in the July to September 2020 period.
