Published on October 13, 2019, Harambee Stars is gearing up for an international friendly match against Mozambique at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, today at 4 p.m.

The friendly match is a crucial part of the team's preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where Kenya is grouped alongside Egypt, Togo, and Comoros.

Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi emphasized the importance of the match, stating, 'I have had good training sessions with the players in Nairobi. The focus was specifically on the big number of players we wanted to see and prepare them for the match. We made a decision to call players, more so those we don’t see in action every day, and give them an opportunity so that we can clear any doubts.'

Kenya will look to make the most of this fixture, having forfeited an earlier match against Libya in Tripoli due to 'logistic challenges.'

Coach Kimanzi, who took over from Sebastian Migne, will be under scrutiny as he looks to lead the team to a win in his first match in charge, following a 1-1 draw against neighbors Uganda in Nairobi.
