Kenyans React to Likoni Ferry Tragedy Retrieval

On October 11, 2019, the Kenya Navy successfully retrieved the vehicle that plunged into the ocean during the Likoni ferry tragedy, bringing closure to the family of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda.

However, the operation was met with mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, with some expressing gratitude and others questioning the efficiency of the Kenya Navy.

According to a tweet by Daily Nation, the retrieval of the bodies and car was a success, with the hashtag #RecoveryInTheDeep trending on Twitter.

Some Twitter users, like Zeynab Wandati, expressed their condolences to the family, saying 'My heart goes out to them.'

Others, like Muhammad Onyango, questioned the timing of the gratitude, asking 'why we are grateful and thanking God for the retrieval of THE dead bodies yet the same God
