NTV news anchor Dennis Okari has shared a terrifying account of his flight experience on a Silverstone Aircraft that narrowly avoided disaster at Wilson Airport on Friday morning.

According to Okari, he was on board the flight heading to Eldoret when they experienced a terrifying mishap on the runway at Wilson Airport.

Okari revealed that the Silverstone flight to Lamu may have crashed due to conditions on the runway, specifically the potholes.

"The runway was very wet but what struck me was the potholes. Our pilot was literally dodging them as we taxied. We hit two of them hard #WilsonAirport," Okari explained.

Okari shared a photo from inside the aircraft, which has gone viral on social media.

On Friday morning, Silverstone Air released a statement confirming that their Fokker 50, 5Y-IZO, had an incident while taking off at 9:00 AM.

The passengers and crew have been safely disembarked, and the airline is working with the relevant authorities to assess the situation.

There were 55 people on board, including 50 passengers and 5 crew members.

According to the Kenya Airports Authority, two passengers were slightly injured and are receiving treatment.

Reactions from Kenyans on Twitter have been pouring in, with many calling for Wilson Airport management to be held responsible for the potholes on the runway.
