Published on October 9, 2019, a public feud erupted between the wives of two prominent English footballers, Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, on social media.
Coleen Rooney alleged that Rebekah Vardy had been leaking stories about the Rooney family's private life to The Sun newspaper.
According to Coleen, she had posted false stories on Instagram over five months to test if they would be leaked to the media. She claimed that only Rebekah Vardy was able to view these stories, as she had blocked everyone else.
Rebekah Vardy responded by denying the allegations, stating that she did not need to sell stories about the Rooney family as her husband, Jamie Vardy, earns an estimated Sh20 million per week.
Rebekah also suggested that her Instagram account might have been hacked, adding that she was 'disgusted' by the need to deny the allegations.
