On October 8, 2019, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti released a joint statement in support of the Catholic Church's anti-corruption campaign.

The campaign, launched on October 5, 2019, at the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB), aims to combat corruption nationwide. The church has outlined practical steps to achieve this goal, including opening corruption desks in all Catholic churches to track reported cases.

The DPP and DCI praised the church's commitment to fighting corruption, saying, 'We sincerely thank the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops for taking a resolute stand and offering much-needed spiritual and moral leadership in the country's fight against corruption. This is a commitment worth emulating.'

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has also welcomed the church's declaration, with CEO Twalib Mbarak stating, 'The decision by the Catholic Church to rally its faithful to strongly support the fight against corruption and ban all donations without proper source is welcomed.'

However, the Deputy President has publicly opposed the bid to regulate church donations.
