Lyon's poor form has led to the dismissal of Brazilian manager Silvinho, with his assistant Gerald Baticle taking charge on an interim basis.

The French side has picked just one win in nine matches in all competitions, leaving Silvinho under immense pressure.

According to Goal.com, Silvinho's unattractive brand of football was a major factor in his sacking, with fans expressing their discontent.

Lyon are currently sitting 14th on the Ligue 1 log with nine points, all thanks to three draws and four defeats.

Despite the poor form, Lyon have fared better on the continental stage, garnering four points from two matches to occupy second place in Group G.

Silvinho's last match at the helm was on October 6, during his side's 1-0 defeat away to local rivals Saint-Etienne.

Before becoming a manager, Silvinho had a successful playing career, retiring in 2011. He then went on to work under Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan as an assistant manager and later with the Brazil national team.
