Published on April 27, 2020, a devastating flood from Lake Victoria has ravaged crops and displaced families in Homa Bay County.

Thomas Ogolla, a farmer in Arujo location of Homa Bay Town constituency, lamented the loss of over half of their farms along Lake Victoria, which were submerged by excess water from the lake.

'More than half of our farms along Lake Victoria are submerged by excess water from Lake Victoria, and varieties of our crops washed away into the lake leaving us with no yield to look forward to in the farms,' Ogolla told KNA.

The flood has not only destroyed crops but also affected dairy farmers, who are struggling to produce milk due to reduced feed for their animals.
