Surveyors Fault Uhuru's 'Bad Fit' NLC Nominees ¶
Surveyors have faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta's nominees to the National Land Commission (NLC) saying they are not fit for the job.
The surveyors, who are members of the Kenya Society of Surveyors (KSS), said the nominees lack the necessary skills and experience to effectively manage the country's land resources.
The KSS has been critical of the government's handling of land issues, and the surveyors' association has been at odds with the NLC over the commission's handling of land disputes.
The surveyors' criticism comes as the NLC is set to meet to discuss the nomination of new members to the commission.
President Kenyatta nominated 11 new members to the NLC in September, but the surveyors have expressed concerns that the nominees are not qualified to serve on the commission.
The KSS has called for the nomination of more qualified surveyors to the NLC, saying that the current nominees are not fit to serve on the commission.
The surveyors' criticism has been met with a denial from the government, which has defended the nomination of the new members to the NLC.
