On Sunday evening, a man was arrested at Kisima Trading Center in Samburu Central Sub-county for illegal possession of ammunition.
Samburu County Police Commander Samson Ogelo confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was apprehended with 100 bullets following a tip-off from members of the public.
According to the police boss, officers on patrol at Kisima Trading Center received information about a man carrying suspicious goods, leading them to search the suspect and recover the bullets.
The suspect was initially detained at Kisima Police Station before being transferred to Maralal Police Station and is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest, including the intended purpose of the bullets.
The man is set to face charges of illegal possession of bullets.
