As I embarked on this unusual experiment, I couldn't help but think about the 2014 OkCupid survey that found women generally preferred to date men of their own race. But I was determined to keep an open mind, especially given the dwindling dating pool in Kenya.

My first date was with Bolulaje Owoh, a 34-year-old Nigerian businessman. He was charming and had a great sense of humor, but our date was marred by awkward silences and a few red flags. Despite this, I found myself drawn to him and decided to give him another chance.

My second date was with Jay Patel, a 30-year-old Indian photographer. He was easygoing and had a great sense of adventure, and our date was a relaxed and enjoyable affair. We bonded over our shared love of art and travel, and I found myself feeling at ease in his presence.

As I reflect on my experiences, I realize that dating men from different cultures can be both exhilarating and challenging. While there were moments of pure joy and connection, there were also moments of discomfort and confusion. But overall, I'm grateful for the opportunity to have tried something new and to have learned more about myself and others in the process.
