Engine Failure Forces Kenya Airways Flight to Divert Back to Nairobi

On October 4th, 2019, a Kenya Airways E190 flight, KQ484, experienced engine failure while climbing to 38,000 feet on its way to Dar es Salaam from Nairobi.

The plane, which was just 33 minutes into its journey, was forced to make a quick return to Nairobi, leaving passengers shaken but grateful to have made it back safely.

A passenger on the flight took to social media to share their experience, describing how the crew announced the flight would be rerouting to Nairobi after engine failure, and how gas masks were deployed during the emergency.

Kenya Airways has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
