On October 3, 2019, former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated 27 years of marriage, a milestone they commemorated with heartfelt posts on social media.
Michelle Obama shared a photo of the couple laughing near the water, describing the 'magic' that connects them. She wrote on Instagram and Twitter, '27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I'd say he's delivered.'
Barack Obama, on the other hand, posted a photo featuring the couple embracing each other and watching a sunset together. He quoted a line from The Beatles song 'Getting Better,' saying, 'Like the Beatles said: It's getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!'
The couple met in 1989 at a Chicago Law Firm, where Michelle was assigned to be Barack's mentor. They got engaged and married on October 3, 1992, and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
