On October 4, 2019, a heated debate erupted in the Kenyan media after radio presenter Tina Kaggia responded to her ex-husband JB Masanduku's plea for a round-table meeting to discuss co-parenting.

JB Masanduku, a comedian whose real name is Nathan Kimani, had claimed in a recent TV interview that Tina had denied him the right to see their two children for a year.

"Tina, I hope you are well and doing fine. I beseech you that we have a sit down and we talk about how I would probably see the kids," Masanduku said on live TV.

Tina, however, was not moved by her ex-husband's plea. In a statement posted on her Instagram stories, she said, "Public opinions don't move me. The sooner bloggers and for F.O.M.O (Fear of Missing Out) people understand this, the sooner they will stop calling me with useless questions. Sina time ya kujibu," which translates to "I don't have time to respond".

This is not the first time Masanduku has been accused of neglecting his responsibilities as a father. A month prior to his plea, Tina publicly claimed that he had become a deadbeat dad, abdicating his responsibilities as a father.

Tina and Masanduku were married in 2014 at a private ceremony that was preceded by a civil ceremony at the Attorney General's chambers. However, their marriage ended in divorce three years later, with Tina citing neglect, manipulation, and lies as reasons for the breakdown.
